Dr. Nguyen completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Montreal in 2006, graduated Phi Kappa Phi for her Master of Sciences and Certificate in Advanced Education in Prosthodontics at the University of Maryland in 2009, and continued with a Fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics and Oral Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centre in 2010. She has been involved in various research projects including a community-based research project on dental health in Vietnam and biomaterials research involving implants, removable prostheses, hygiene protocols and silicone. Her current research focus is on the side effects of medications, radiation therapy and hyperbaric oxygen treatments on oral health.Dr. Nguyen is a Fellow in Prosthodontics of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. She is the West regional councillor for the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada, Table Clinics Chair for the American College of Prosthodontics, member of the Credentials committee and Information Technology committee for the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and member of the International Relations committee of the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics. In addition to her assistant professor position at UBC, she works as a maxillofacial prosthodontist at the British Columbia Cancer Agency and is a prosthodontics board examiner for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada._________________________________________________________________________
Dre Nguyen a gradué de L'Université de Montréal avec un Doctorat en Médecine dentaire en 2006. En 2009, elle a obtenu son certificat en prosthodontie et une maîtrise ès sciences avec mention Phi Kappa Phi de L'University of Maryland. Elle est également détentrice d'un Fellowship en prosthodontie maxillofaciale et oncologie dentaire de L'University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center complété en 2010.Elle a participé à de nombreux projets de recherches incluant un projet en santé communautaire sur la Santé Bucco-dentaire au Vietnam ainsi que des projets touchant les implants, les prothèses amovibles, les procédures d'hygiène buccales et les biomatériaux. Ses projets de recherche sont maintenant orientés sur les effets secondaires de medicaments, de la radiothérapie et des traitements en chambres hyperbares sur la santé bucco-dentaire.Dre Nguyen est Fellow en prosthodontie du Collège Royal des Chirurgiens Dentistes du Canada et Diplomate du board Américain de Prosthodontie. Elle est Conseillère pour l’Ouest Canadien de l’Association Canadienne de Prosthodontie, présidente pour les présentations d'affiches scientifiques du Collège Américain de Prosthodontie, membre du comité en qualifications et du comité en technologie de l’information de l’Académie Américaine de Prosthodontie Fixe et membre du comité en relations internationales de l’Academie Américaine de Prothèses Maxillofaciales. En plus de sa position de professeure adjoint à l'Université de la Colombie Britannique, elle exerce à titre de prosthodontiste maxillofaciale à l'Agence du Cancer de la Colombie Britannique et est examinatrice en prosthodontie du Collège Royal des Chirurgiens Dentistes du Canada.
