Fernanda Almeida, assistant professor, Department of Oral Health Sciences, was guest editor for Sleep and Breathing (May 2011), an international journal of the science and practice of sleep medicine. It is the official journal of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and other dental sleep medicine organizations in Europe and Asia. Dr. Almeida, who regularly contributes as associate editor, notes in her guest editorial, “Dental Sleep Medicine in Education, Practice and Research,” that this special issue features a significant number of excellent articles in the fi eld of dental sleep medicine.
