Highlights from General Practice Residents Research Day and the awards and certificates of completion ceremony of postgraduate residency programs

The General Practice Residency (GPR) Training Program celebrated their annual research day this year on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. The day also marked the completion by residents of the GPR and the Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology (OMOP) Residency programs.

Residents in the GPR and OMOP programs are licenced dentists undertaking advanced postgraduate training in dental specialties in hospital settings.

The GPR Research Day took place at the BC Cancer Agency Research Centre lecture theatre where residents presented their year-long residency research projects.

In the evening an awards and certificates of completion ceremony and dinner was held at Brock House Restaurant. Sixty-eight people attended—faculty and staff of the GPR and OMOP programs. Thirteen residents completed the General Practice Residency Training Program this year and one resident completed the four-year Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology Residency Program.
