Surgical Telescope Evaluation Program
The University of British Columbia Surgical Telescope Evaluation Program collects, analyzes, and serves as a service resource for, data related to the use of surgical magnification in dentistry.
The Surgical Telescope Evaluation Program was established as a resource center for ergonomic researchers and dental practitioners, to address the optical needs of dental practice, to provide statistics and comparative studies of existing surgical magnification devices and related equipment, to provide design specifications to manufacturers for new devices and equipment, and to provide evaluations and analyses to manufacturers for their available (including prototype) surgical telescope equipment. The program was begun in the fall of 1995 and is currently based in the Clinical Simulation Laboratory at the University of British Columbia.
