Gifts in Kind

Gifts in kind are all types of property, including educational discounts, donated to UBC (e.g., a medical scanner, toothbrushes, a 40% educational discount off the product purchase).

What do we accept?

We work in partnership with our faculty members to determine if there are areas needing equipment and supplies. Gifts must be considered relevant to the university or have academic merit.

If you have something you think might be of interest, please contact us.

What gifts in kind are not eligible for a charitable tax receipt?

All gifts to UBC will receive a formal acknowledgement from the university. However, services (such as donated time, labour and skills, loans and leases of property) are not eligible for a charitable tax receipt.

Official charitable tax receipts are issued per Canada Revenue Agency guidelines and in accordance with procedures established by UBC.
