The UBC Faculty of Dentistry’s Research Day is an annual forum highlighting our current research accomplishments. We showcase innovative and groundbreaking research projects via oral and poster presentations by undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, research associates, visiting scientists, and faculty members. An ever-popular feature is a “rapid talks” session where selected students have four minutes to describe their research.

Please join us on Tuesday, January 24 and learn about the exciting research discoveries in our dental school!

The entire Faculty is invited to participate, including dental students, dental hygiene students, graduate students, postgraduate residents, staff, postdoctoral fellows, research associates, visiting scientists, and full-time and part-time faculty.

There are no classes scheduled for the afternoon. All students have been pre-registered for this event and are expected to attend. Research Day is part of the curriculum; regular absence policies will apply. First-year dental hygiene degree students attending classes in other Faculties are excused from attending Research Day. If you cannot attend, please contact Siobhan Ryan, Assistant Manager, Student Services, at

Abstracts were due in November 2022.

If you require a Letter of Attendance to submit CE credits, please visit the registration table at the event.

There will be a poster competition with first place in each category awarded $500! Additionally, door prizes donated by our Alumni Partners will be announced throughout the afternoon. You must be present to win!
