UBC clinical prof wins ACDF’s WW Wood Award for Excellence in Dental Education

Dr. PJ Murphy, clinical assistant professor in the Department of Oral Health Sciences, has been selected as the UBC Faculty of Dentistry winner of the Association of Canadian Faculties of Dentistry’s (ACDF) W.W. Wood Award for Excellence in Dental Education for the 2018-2019 academic year by members of the Teaching Effectiveness and Awards Committee.

The ACFD established the W.W. Wood Award and is given to those who have demonstrated leadership in dental education, set high standards of student involvement and performance and have been recognized as a superior educator by students and colleagues. The Faculty is fortunate to have such dedicated, creative and distinguished individuals like Dr. Murphy on the team contributing to the academic mission and serving students with great passion.

Dr. Murphy will be honoured in person among the other teaching award recipients the UBC Dentistry Graduation Luncheon on Thursday, May 30.
