The Academy provides timely, informed and unbiased assessments of urgent issues affecting the health of Canadians.
MacEntee, who recently retired focused his teaching and research on access of oral healthcare for vulnerable populations, and especially for people who are old and frail.
He has published numerous books, chapters, and peer-reviewed papers on this and related subjects, and currently he is the editor-in-chief of Gerodontology: The International Journal of Dental Geriatrics. He is a past president of both the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and the International College of Prosthodontists. In 2009, he received a Distinguished Scientist Award from the International Association for Dental Research and a Killam Teaching Prize. In his retirement he continues with his research and writing.
