Children’s Dental Program

The Children’s Dental Program offers free basic dental and preventive services to low-income school-aged children from the Lower Mainland who are not eligible for existing government-funded programs.

Children receive dental services during the academic year at the UBC Dental Clinic.

Dental students and dental assisting students develop their knowledge and skills in the provision of pediatric dental care, and also enhance their understanding of the health needs of children with limited access to dental services.

Save a Smile Fund

Historically delivered through a partnership between the British Columbia Dental Association (BCDA) and UBC Dentistry, the Save a Smile program transitioned in June 2026 to a new model in which the newly launched BCDA Oral Health Foundation will manage its operating funds. The new structure creates a more streamlined, flexible and sustainable approach to funding clinical care for children in need.
