The UBC Faculty of Dentistry is making a difference through innovative educational programming, impactful research, a systemic approach to oral health, and building connections in the dental and dental hygiene community.

UBC Dentistry has nearly 500 undergraduate students enrolled in its Doctor of Dental Medicine and Dental Hygiene Degree Programs. There are 75 graduate students in the research-intensive MSc and PhD degree programs, including the combined diploma options with either an MSc or PhD in five clinical specialty graduate programs. The Faculty has two postgraduate residency programs, as well as an international degree completion program and an assessment and training program for internationally trained dental specialists.

UBC Dentistry is home to the Nobel Biocare Oral Health Centre, which uses state-of-the-art technology to create a sophisticated, efficient space for learning, community service, clinical care and research. Additional spaces supporting education and research include the 123Dentist Simulation Laboratory, Patterson Dental Learning Centre and the Centre for High-Throughput Phenogenomics.

The Faculty has approximately 60 faculty members (15 lecturers), 35 clinical educators and over 300 clinical practitioners who teach during the academic year. Members in its two departments, Oral Biological and Medical Sciences and Oral Health Sciences, undertake a wide variety of research contributing to the profession’s body of knowledge.
