Congratulations to Drs. HsingChi von Bergmann and Abiola Adeniyi, who are the two Faculty of Dentistry winners of the prestigious Killam Teaching Awards this year.

Dr. HsingChi von Bergmann

Dr. von Bergmann has received UBC’s highest teaching honour, the Killam Teaching Prize. The Killam Teaching Prize is awarded to faculty members who are nominated by students, colleagues and alumni in recognition of their teaching excellence. Dr. von Bergmann has received this award for her transformative impact on teaching and learning at an institutional, disciplinary, and societal level. She has been very instrumental in facilitating our faculty members with the transition to on-line instruction and production of video modules.

Dr. Abiola Adeniyi

Dr. Abiola Adeniyi has been awarded a Killam Graduate Teaching Assistant Award – an award given to only 16 teaching assistants across all Faculties at UBC each year. This award reflects the respect that our students, and Dr. Adeniyi’s supervisors have for her as a future academician and role-model for our students.
