Dr. Joy Richman, Tier 1 CRC in Craniofacial and Dental Development
Dr. Joy Richman has been appointed Tier 1 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Craniofacial and Dental Development from January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2029. Dr. Richman is the first female Tier 1 CRC at UBC Dentistry. She is among the 15 UBC researchers announced as new and renewed CRCs in the latest round of appointments, representing an investment of $12.8 million through the Canada Research Chairs program.

Chairholders improve our depth of knowledge and quality of life, strengthen Canada’s international competitiveness, and help train the next generation of highly skilled people through student supervision, teaching and the coordination of other researchers’ work.
