Diversifying Health and Human Service Professions Education

This past summer, the Faculty of Dentistry participated in the UBC Diversifying Health Professions Education (D’HoPE) program, welcoming 30 equity-deserving high school and undergraduate students who learned about the seven participating UBC health-related programs. The D’HoPE program facilitates mentorship and creates connections through activities including meeting health professionals and current students, panel discussions and visits to clinical, teaching and research sites across campus.

Thank you to the BC Dental Hygienist Association for kindly sponsoring the lunch for all participants and to all the volunteers and organizers who made this possible:

  • Ali Blattler (DMD 2025 candidate)
  • Jessica Khangura (DMD 2026 candidate)
  • Damini Chakraborty (MSc Year 1)
  • Parisa Shokouhi (MSc Year 1)
  • Jenna Jomha (DH Degree Completion student)
  • Dr. Carrie Krekoski, Clinical Assistant Professor
  • Dr. Zul Kanji, Director, Admissions and Student Affairs
  • Jackie Lee and Jamie Chow, Admissions Team
  • Dr. Diego Ardenghi and Lydia Chen, DEI Advisory Committee
