To be eligible for admission to the 4th year of the Dental Hygiene Degree Program, applicants must:
- Have graduated with a minimum overall average of 70% from a dental hygiene diploma/certificate program that is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC) OR the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association.

OR - Be a recent graduate of an accredited dental hygiene diploma program but have not yet practiced.

OR - Be enrolled in your final year of another accredited dental hygiene diploma program in Canada or the USA.
AND must:
Have successfully completed a minimum of 30 credits of specified university transferable coursework as prerequisites. The 30 credits of first year prerequisite course must be separate from the credits received in the Dental Hygiene Diploma program.
These credits include:
6 credits of first year Biology (Anatomy & Physiology) – must include lab
6 credits of first year Chemistry – must include lab
6 credits of first year English – must be completed in Canada or the USA
6 credits of first or second year Psychology
6 credits of electives
Note: Applicants must have all of these exact courses with the required number of credits to be eligible for admission to Category 1. Failure to fulfill the required prerequisites and number of credits, will make your application to Category 1 ineligible. AND
Have current registration in good standing with a regulatory authority where the applicant has practiced most recently.
AND
Hold a National Dental Hygiene Certification Exam Certificate from the National Dental Hygiene Certification Board (NDHCB) OR from the Federation of Dental Hygiene Regulators of Canada (FDHRC) OR hold an American National Board (ANB) Certificate, or submit the NDHCB/FDHRC/ANB certificate after completion of your accredited Dental Hygiene Diploma program in Canada or the USA, before program start date.
