CIHR funding to study human genetic disease

Dr. Joy Richman and her colleague Dr. Esther Verheyen from Simon Fraser University were awarded $819,506 over five years in a CIHR Project Grant for “Discovery of novel WNT signaling mechanisms from the study of human genetic disease in two animal models.” Their disease of interest is Robinow Syndrome, which is characterized by abnormal development of the limbs and face.
