Caitlin Meredith (DMD’13) was recently inducted into the UBC Sports Hall of Fame, Distinguished Class of 2021. Caitlin completed her full 5 years of athletic eligibility as a UBC Thunderbird swimmer from 2002 through until 2007.
A member of the prestigious “5-for-5” club, Caitlin competed during the UBC Swimming “Decade of Dominance”, winning 5 CIS team championship titles in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. She is one of the winningest UBC Thunderbirds to ever come through the program, having won 26 medals at CIS Championships (10G, 7S, 9B), averaging more than 5 medals per championship. She was named a CIS All-Canadian for all 5 years of her varsity athletic career.
Not only was Caitlin a successful athlete, she was an exceptional student as well. She completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Cellular Biology and Genetics and was named an Academic All-Canadian in 2005, 2006 and 2007. She went on to complete her Doctor of Dental Medicine at UBC from 2008 to 2013.
