Dr. Wilson Kwong Donates Three Pura Air™ Purification Units to the Faculty

It has been remarkable to see the generosity and investment of alumni and friends to support UBC Dentistry over the past 18 months. Navigating the pandemic has been, and continues to be a challenge for not only our Faculty, but also for our dental community at large.

Recently, alumnus Dr. Wilson Kwong generously donated two Pura Air™ mobile room purification units, and one free standing unit to the school.

Recognizing the importance of creating a safer, clean-air, environment for dental and medical, Dr. Kwong began working with Pura Air™ to find the solution. The unique PuraAir™ technology not only removes viruses, contaminants, spores, molds and pathogens from the air, but eradicates risk at the molecular level by employing UV and medical grade HEPA filtration technology.

This added technology will further enhance UBC Dentistry strict safety protocols for our students, faculty, staff, and patients in our clinical spaces. The two portable units are housed in the OHC, and the larger, free standing unit is currently in the PDLC, and will eventually be rehomed in the new simulation laboratory.

The Faculty is greatly appreciative to Dr. Kwong for his ongoing support and passion for the Faculty’s academic and research missions. Thank you, Dr. Kwong!
