Emily Thong
Emily Thong, fourth-year dental student, was recently selected as the recipient of the Professor Jessie Gordon McCarthy Memorial Scholarship.
The scholarship is administered by UBC Health and is awarded to a student who having completed the penultimate year of any pre-licensure Health Science course best combines academic excellence, demonstrated interest and leadership in the field of community health.
Thong is honoured by the award, and appreciates the opportunities she has experienced through UBC Dentistry to deepen her passion for volunteering.
