The American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (AAED) selected Dr. Kelvin I. Afrashtehfar, a graduate prosthodontics resident, as the recipient of the AAED 2019 Research Grant. His proposal, “Perspectives of patients with a single-tooth implant crown in the esthetic zone,” supervised by Dr. Ross Bryant, Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Health Sciences, was considered to promote meaningful research in the realm of esthetic dentistry. Committee members of Kelvin’s research project includes Dr. Chris Wyatt, Professor and Head, and Dr. Vince Lee, Clinical Assistant Professor, both in the Department of Oral Health Sciences. Kelvin is expected to present the research findings at the 45th Annual Meeting of the AAED, from August 6 to 8, 2020, in Nassau, Bahamas. The AAED will cover for his registration fees and travel expenses.
