Yolanda Lan

Yolanda Lan, who is a graduate student undertaking an MSc in Craniofacial Science, worked to coordinate financial support from GluStitch Inc., a manufacturer of wound management products containing octyl and butyl cyanoacrylate adhesives. GluStitch donated $10k toward Yolanda’s research to determine the efficacy of cyanoacrylate, PeriAcryl®90 HV (PA), as an adhesive barrier in managing dental patients presenting with either an intra or perioral herpetic lesions, by limiting the viral shedding and spreading of the Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV 1 and 2). Yolanda’s supervisor is Penny Hatzimanolakis, Clinical Associate Professor, in the Department of Oral Biological & Medical Sciences.
