In Memoriam

We are saddened to share that Part-time clinical instructor Dr. William (Bill) Catalano passed away on February 6.

Dr. Catalano was an experienced clinician, dedicated teacher and advocate for all UBC Dentistry students. He joined the Faculty as a clinical assistant professor in 1995 and showed an unwavering commitment to students and faculty throughout his career.

In 2014, the College of Dental Surgeons of BC awarded him the Distinguished Service Award for his many years of involvement as a treasurer and pro tem deputy registrar. In 2023, UBC Dentistry honoured him with an Alumni Affiliate Award. Dr. Catalano worked in the clinic alongside his wife, Shauna, who recently retired. He will be remembered as an esteemed colleague and friend to all.
