Julia Burgess Wins Award at Hinman Student Research Symposium

Congratulations to Julia Burgess (DMD 2024 candidate), who received a Most Outstanding Presentation in Basic Science Research Award at the 27th Hinman Student Research Symposium. The conference was held on October 28-30, 2022, in Memphis, Tennessee and featured competitive scientific poster and oral presentations by students from dental schools across Canada and the USA.

Julia gave a 12-minute oral presentation on her research project, “Physicochemical properties of methacrylate-based dental resins containing photosensitizers targeting a synergistic antimicrobial effect on photodynamic therapy,” which was supervised by Drs. Adriana Manso, Patricia Comeau, and Maria Luisa Leite.
