Dr. Shayan Darvish

MSc in Craniofacial Science student Dr. Shayan Darvish has been awarded the 2022 Ralph Phillips Student Research Award, sponsored by the Founders’ Fund of the Academy of Operative Dentistry (AOD). This award specifically supports a student who is undertaking novel research in contemporary operative dentistry.

Dr. Darvish will be awarded $3,000 USD to support his project titled: Antibacterial, Chemical, and Physical Properties of a Novel Dental Adhesive Loaded with Gold Nanoshells for Photothermal Therapy Applications. He will also present a table clinic to report the findings of his research at the 2023 Annual Meeting of the AOD in Chicago next February.
