The American Dental Education Association (ADEA) has appointed Dr. HsingChi von Bergmann to the ADEA Journal of Dental Education Editorial Review Board for a three-year term, beginning in March 2019.
Dr. von Bergmann is an Associate Professor in the Department of Oral Health Sciences. She is an education expert who joined the Faculty in 2010 and her research interests include large-scale comparative studies (e.g. TIMSS), PBL, quantitative research methods, content analysis, program evaluation, science education (K–16), and dental education. She has been publishing widely in education journals, and consistently in the Journal of Dental Education. She also co-authored a book on 48 countries’ comparative education derived from her work with TIMSS. In 2016 she was awarded the ADEA/ADEA Gies Foundation Education Fellowship which allowed her to work at the ADEA Policy Center with the aim to further dental educator’s understanding in the areas of competencies assessments.
