Community Access Fund
This fund provides the opportunity for students to advocate for patients who cannot afford full and comprehensive dental treatment. Qualified patients receive the treatment they need at a reduced fee, while students gain the advantage of being able to follow through the full treatment plan for their patients.
Monarch Instar
This unique program provides educational and research opportunities in the pediatric dentistry field to undergraduate students and postgraduate residents. Together with Monarch Pediatrics, this fund provides long-term strategies to promote oral health education while delivering dental professional care to children in BC.
Summer Student Practitioner Program
A win-win program for students and dentist mentors. Students gain clinical experience over the summer and an opportunity to be part of the day-to-day operation and management of a dental practice.
SuperChefs Community Volunteer Clinical Program
UBC Dental Hygiene and UBC Land and Food Systems Dietetics program join hands with Dr. Greg Chang, DMD 1986 in teaching nutrition and promoting oral health wellness with kids through cooking.
Sweet Student Emergency Bursary Fund
The Sweet Student Emergency Bursary Fund was established by our dental community to assist UBC Dentistry students who face immense personal challenges, such as medical issues, illness and family tragedies, and are in need of financial assistance. In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Faculty of Dentistry will be using this fund to support our students who are faced with extraordinary financial hardship.
Dentistry Student Wellness Fund
The Student Wellness Fund was established to celebrate UBC Dentistry's 60th anniversary and support students’ mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. This fund provides a mechanism for extra support through our counselling program and is open to all dental hygiene, doctor of dental medicine and graduate students, to help them tackle real-time issues such as food insecurity, improving physical health and mindfulness.
Dental Undergraduate Society Fund
The Dental Undergraduate Society (DUS) Corporate Connect Program is planned and operated by the students and supported by the Faculty of Dentistry to better serve our students, strengthen brand alignment, and provide a positive interactive experience for both students and corporate partners. It is designed to provide additional educational resources to UBC Dentistry students outside of curriculum, and to enhance learning opportunities in areas such as dental practice management, advanced dental equipment and product knowledge, and expertise in finance and insurance.
