In Memoriam
We are saddened to share the unexpected passing of Jack Malnarich (Malnarick), DMD 1969, at the age of 80.
Jack was born in Trail, BC, and grew up in Rossland until he graduated from high school in 1962. He obtained his DMD degree from the Faculty of Dentistry in 1969. According to his wife, Judy, Jack had fond memories of his time at UBC Dentistry. He was an honour student, excelled in chemistry, and loved university life.
In 1968, he met and married his wife Judy Fraser and together they raised their two children. They lived and practiced dentistry in North Vancouver for over 40 years. In the early 2000s, Jack relocated to a dental practice in Sechelt, BC. After a few years, he retired to a life of enjoyment on the Sunshine Coast. Jack was a talented dentist; he had a generous gentle spirit and was a great family man. He loved the outdoors, was an animal lover and a voracious reader. He hiked trails in the Sechelt community, ran marathons in the US and Canada, enjoyed the game of golf, skied most mountains in the province, boated and fished on the “Jolly J,” and kayaked many areas of our ocean. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 12, at the Sunshine Coast Botanical Gardens, in Sechelt, BC.
