The Division of Continuing Dental Education at The University of British Columbia has been offering programs to dental professionals since the early 1970’s. In 1977, mandatory continuing dental education was introduced by the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia (now named BC College of Oral Health Professionals). As the university was the major sponsor of continuing education programs, the Division expanded in order that dental professionals could meet the educational requirements of the various licensing bodies.
