Counselling is a free and confidential service.
- Your privacy is protected; information does not appear on your academic record or transcript. There is no external ability to track, confirm or disconfirm whether you have accessed counselling support.
- All personal information collected is pursuant to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) for the purposes of administering services and compiling aggregate data on the use of services. Services and records are kept secure in accordance with best practices and ethical standards in conjunction with the UBC Counselling Services Centre.
Students can book an appointment to speak to Lisa regarding any concerns impacting their personal, academic or professional lives. Some common issues that students want support with may include mental or physical health, family, relationships, interpersonal difficulties, stress, anxiety, depression, confidence, loss/grief, experiencing a transition, work/life balance, managing conflict or patient care interactions, communication and boundary setting, academic difficulties, learning environment experiences, and information about on or off campus services and resources.

If you are a student and have questions or would like to book a counselling appointment, please email Lisa at counselling@dentistry.ubc.ca. Her office is located in the J.B. Macdonald Building, Room 298. She is available all day on Tuesdays and Fridays and in the afternoon on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
